Trigger, the golden retriever known as The Dogfather, is retiring after fathering more than 300 guide dogs for charities in the UK. Since 2016, Trigger has been the star stud dog of Guide Dogs, a charity dedicated to pairing dogs with people with vision impairments. His legacy includes 39 litters, including a record-breaking litter of 16 puppies born in 2021.
A Legacy in Numbers 323 puppies fathered 294 puppies bred by Guide Dogs 29 collaborations with other guide dog charities Trigger's puppies, affectionately called Triglets, are spread across the UK, helping visually impaired people in London, Glasgow, Cardiff, and even abroad in France and the Netherlands. His final litter, consisting of six puppies, marks the end of an era. His daughters Jenny, Rita, Hermione, Sandy, Indy, and his son Billy, carry forward his legacy of service and care.
